Mission Statement: To provide Orléans and visitors with a community based, family oriented alternative to Canada Day celebrations downtown that is safe, fun and promotes enhanced community spirit.
Location: Petrie island is located at the north end of Trim Road in Orléans on the Ottawa River. The Island is accessed by a causeway next to the Marina. The site has 2 of the best beaches in Ottawa and ideal for festivals and a Canada Day Celebration.
Date and Times: July 1, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Attendance: Past celebrations 25,000+ Audience: All demographic groups with attendance of nearly new born to 100 years old. Male and female, families, diverse ethnic groups, diverse interests groups, diverse income groups, students, residents from Orléans, Blackburn Hamlet, Cumberland, Rockland and visitors from abroad.
Specific Activities: Spectacular fireworks display. Opening Ceremony and cake cutting with local politicians and dignitaries. Main Stage Entertainment: Local performers, Magic show, Cultural shows, etc.
Beverage Tent: offering alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Children’s Zone: Tent provides activities ranging from face painting, fish pond, interactive fun with science, Kid’s Olympics: sack races, water balloon tosses, three legged races, etc.
Land & River competitions: Games such as Amazing Race with canoes, Volleyball, etc. Free prizes in children area. Inflatable rides. Beach Volley Ball. Ottawa Fire Department demonstrations such as rescue training and Water ball activities.
Local food concessions, exhibitors, vendors, arts and crafts.
